Marc Rees is one of Wales’s leading exponents of contemporary performance and installation. His innovative interdisciplinary artworks are known for their flamboyant, humorous and often extreme interpretations of history, culture and personal experience. In addition to working with some of Britain’s foremost physical theatre companie, his own extensive body of work includes the solo stage works Iddo Ef/Caligula Disco/Gloria Days, the installation/performances The House Project /RevolUn/Shed*light and the BBC film A Very Gladys night.
Melanie Scholtz was born to sing. Melanie graduated in 2000 Cum Laude with a Performers’ Diploma in Opera from the SA College of Music at the University of Cape Town (UCT). Melanie won “Best Jazz Vocalist” in the Old Mutual Jazz Encounters in 2002 and in 2006 released her debut album entitled “Zillion Miles”. She lectured in jazz vocal studies at the University of Cape Town from 2004-2005 and has been involved in Artscape’s Youth Jazz evelopment projects since 2006. Melanie is also an accomplished composer/lyricist/writer and director. It has been said about Melanie Scholtz’s music that it is like a ‘best friend’ and listeners are always inspired by her musical honesty. This South African artist will continue to captivate listeners with her original and unique sound.
Aviva's dynamism and versatility have made her one of South Africa's most popular singers. Born into an extremely musical family in Zimbabwe, her home was filled with music and every member of the family sang. In addition to Opera, Teaching and Performing qualifications, she obtained a Master's Degree from University of Cape Town. Since making her debut in the role of Norina from "Don Pasquale" she performed extensively on local and international stages, television and radio.
