I find inspiration in many forms of media. Creating art for me is about constantly reflecting on my place in the world, discovering how to distill and interpret my interaction with what surrounds me and documenting that personal relationship.
In 2008 Zavick stumbled across boro textile, a Japanese style of recycling old indigo fabric. Boro means "ragged" in Japanese, & it's the term used to recycle cotton textiles of the Meiji & Taisho periods (from the 1800s to World War 2). The process of deconstructing garments, reconstructing, reworking, layering, stitching, reinforcing & casting off. www.zavick.com
